now I apologize to my few readers, but writing One moment is rusty from months of intense study. Fortunately, the exams are over and probably will have time to catch up this blog and maybe make it a little 'more active. But enough of the good intentions, it is now April 25 and will peck a nice rant about the Resistance.
I like to talk about resistance, I always saw this as a period of history and founding epic stage, never forgetting, however, the extreme complexity of the phenomenon. It is for this reason that I consider quite empty the "official celebrations on 25 April, not that I mind the day of commemoration, in fact, what bothers me are empty and hypocritical ceremonies (often made in tone, trivial and brutally chauvinistic) of politicians who have nothing to do with those values.
From the sixties onwards, the day of liberation and resistance more generally have been institutionally "framed" and emptied of meaning. Often the same resistance was passed as a "second Renaissance" where the partisans are represented only as patriots willing to fight for national unity against the German invader. No. It did not exactly like that. The journal Quaderni Piacentini in 1962 in this regard expressed anger and outrage at the use that was made of memory:
On 25 April this year took us by surprise. We have pointed out, looks a bit '!, Self-righteous newspapers, radio and television, banners, parades, bands, speeches. After 17 years of quarantine, the Resistance has been promoted [...] was deemed "worthy" of all previous wars of the "Italian people": 1848, 1859, 1866, 1896, 1911, 1915, 1935, 1940. A good result, I must say, for our 'duty' and moved almost in disbelief for so much grace. The resistance is no longer afraid, is dead: long live the resistance, therefore, [...] No No No. We do not want to be the dead of the Resistance 'honored' by monuments "to the fallen of all wars" inaugurated by Bishop, Mayor, President of the Court, the District Commander, Commissioners, and Superintendent intendants. Better to silence. The sense of strength was: Revolution, Renewal.
( 25 April 1945 - April 25, 1962 , in Quaderni Piacentini, April 1962, 1-bis, paragraph. Crainz in G., History of Italian miracle , Rome, Donzelli, 2005 p . 186.)
Revolution and then renewal.
Today, give a different face to this recurrence is possible, indeed, necessary. In the cultural wasteland and policy this country, such as that of a partisan, can not be left in oblivion. There is extreme urgency to read, see, listen, tell and share stories, places and protagonists of that wonderful experience of redemption and change.
Good riddance to all.
